Piercings, Tattoos & Stretch Marks, Oh My!

At the age of 13, I convinced my mom to let me get my nose pierced.

She only took me to the tattoo/piercing shop because she thought I would chicken out once I saw the needle, however, knowing that she didn't actually want me to get it only fueled my determination...
I'm such a rebel. ;)

At the age of 14, I got my belly button pierced. Wasn't a big deal...all of my friends were getting it done, which meant I had to, right?!

At the age of 18, I got my first tattoo...a French flag on my hip (kinda silly looking back...but I think it shows just how crazy I am about France).

My mother warned me not to get a tattoo on my hip. Her exact words were, "What if you get pregnant?...It will stretch out", to which I quickly responded, "I'll never get pregnant; I don't want kids".
About 6 months later, I got pregnant...
 (-_-)
*sigh* I should have listened.

At the age of 20 (I think) I got my last tattoo...which is of...well...of Michael Jackson...
DON'T JUDGE ME, OK?!?!
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a huge MJ fan. My tattoo of him is on my foot, with his initials. I don't regret it yet...but might someday.

Of my tattoos and piercings, the only two I regret, at this point in my life, are my French flag and belly button piercing.
What once was a cute LITTLE flag, is now a freaking stretched out BANNER, with lovely stretch marks running through it!
& what once added bling and sparkle to my flat, mark-less belly, would now only draw attention to my not so flat and not so mark-less mommy tummy.

I debated over whether or not to post pics, but decided against it with your appetites and mental health in mind.
You're welcome! ;)

It should be mandatory for tattoo/piercing shops to show pictures of what tattoos and piercings look like after having a baby...I bet a lot of women would reconsider the location of their body art...

Thanks for reading!

Do you have a tattoo or piercing that you now regret?

  1. I'm scheduled to get my 1st tattoo on this coming Friday - my children's names in a heart on my left shoulder blade. I figured I'd have it there so in the event I do have another child, it shouldn't expand too much!

--Not sure if you got my message, but I tried to follow your blog, and post a comment and 1. could not find where to follow using Google Friend Connect, and 2. To comment required entering a captcha code...but the page wouldn't scroll down enough for me to enter it.

    1. Hey I didn't get your message, but thanks for letting me know. Another friend had the same issue with commenting. I think it's something to do with the layout/background. I think I'll be looking for a new one...any suggestions of websites where I can find some cute ones? I love yours!

As for Google Friend Connect, I don't have that widget on my page, just Networked Blogs. Should I go with Google? I'm new to this so bear with me! I appreciate the help!

  3. Thanks! I just used a Blogger background that was listed. They actually have some pretty cute ones that allow you to play with the colors! :)--& then I make my own headers (which I'm constantly changing and messing with lol).

I would definitely recommend using the Google Friend Connect widget. You could even use it in addition to the one you are already using. I think it makes it easier for people to follow your blog, but that's just me.

If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to ask! :) I'm always willing to help out a fellow blogger!

    1. So...I changed the entire layout, added the Google Friend Connect widget and already have one more follower! Hopefully that will do the trick! Thanks for the feedback!

  4. I have a butterfly right below my belly button. Like you, peeps told me not to doit in case i got preggers. My hubby said my once butterfly will end up looking like a buzzard after pregnancy. Thankfully it just stretched a little. I don't retreat it at all :)

  5. I got a heart on my hip when I turned 18. It actually didn't stretch with either pregnancies. I guess I got lucky! I do however have a ton of stretch marks in that tiny area between my belly button and the navel piercing. So weird! I'm just hoping to get my stomach flat enough so I can repierce it to hide those stretch marks!!

  6. LOL! Love this post! I don't have any tattoos, but I did get my eyebrow pierced when I was 18 and yes I regret it! It got really infected and I ended up having to go to the doc to get put on heavy duty antibiotics. Definitely not worth it at all, lol!

  7. i have one small tattoo on my ankle and i do regret that as i would never do it now knowing that my body is so chemically sensitive. it is not pretty anymore. it is like 18 years later. the ink is very faded. I would not get another tattoo welll ever. when i was younger i had my belly button, nose and tongue pierced. The only iregretted was the belly button. I had to take it out as it got very very infected! it was so not fun. I repierced my nose recently though and still love it :) I am considering re-doing my tongue as well.

  9. Can you do anything to prevent skin discoloration during pregnancy or after pregnancy ? Skin pigmentation changes usually disappear on their own after delivery . You can remove your fade skin easy way .Use stria fade that contain vitamin E and alpha hydroxy acids .Get instant solution in short time.
